From: nerdtech (yahoo@nerdtech.com) | Date: 2005-07-04 21:48:30 UTC
Greetings, all! Just wanted to let you know that I started a
state-specific group for Michigan letterboxing.

Feel free to join, if so desired.
Happy hunting [and placing!]

Are you aware that there is already a Great Lakes group?

Most of the Michigan letterboxers can be found hanging out at the
Great Lakes regional Yahoo! group, which is made up primarily
of 'boxers from MI, WI, IL, IN, OH and MN. You are welcome to join us
there!

I am now. I searched for letterbox, letterboxing, and Michigan, and
didnt find any groups.
Uhgngnhh.

That's why I made one for Michigan.
But I have applied for membership to the Great Lakes group.

Thanks!

There's also a group for every state on Atlas Quest, though I haven't
seen much activity specifically about Michigan in particular. The
Great Lakes group seems like the "main" group for Michigonians.

That would actually be Michiganders. Although technically the correct
term is Michiganian (by some obscure decree of state legislature back
in the 70's), the generally preferred term is Michigander -- even
though it makes us all sound like a bunch of quacks.

I kind of figured I didn't get that right--but it's always fun
figuring out what the politically correct term is from those states
you really aren't familiar with and don't have an 'obvious' solution.
=) But strangely, everyone still knew what I meant which was the
important part! ;o)
